Parent Workshop: Raising Social Justice Advocates
Parent Learning Opportunity

Parenting today feels overwhelming. With the constant barrage of challenging news and social media, it’s natural to worry about how to prepare our children for a future that often seems uncertain and fraught with injustice.
This workshop offers a supportive space for parents to explore how to raise socially conscious children who can advocate for justice and equity—while protecting their emotional well-being and reducing anxiety. We’ll thoughtfully acknowledge the realities of systemic racism, classism, and ableism, and share practical, nurturing strategies to help children build resilience, empathy, and a confident sense of agency.
Children are naturally curious and caring, but learning about social injustices can feel heavy and too much to bear. However, parents of children who have marginalized identities have to provide this armor for their children at many stages of their lives. How do we build the ability for children to stand up for themselves and for others, consider their own emotional needs, and become confident, compassionate advocates who can engage with the world thoughtfully and courageously?
