Artpark
What is Artpark?
Artpark is an epic annual PS3 art making event! Join your friends and explore a variety of community-led art projects set up around the auditorium, gymeteria and the art/clay room on Saturday, March 9th from 1-4pm. This is a free event organized by PS3's PTA Arts Committee. For any questions or ideas please contact arts@ps3nyc.org - we can't wait to see you there. Read on to learn about getting more involved/volunteering with the event.
How can I help??
If your family would like to lead an art project, please sign up here. If you'd like to volunteer without leading a project, there are slots for you! Bake sale donations are also encouraged.
What kind of projects have families done in the past?
Design a PS3 Mural, Squeegee Painting, Crazy Hat Making, Stop-motion Animation, Graffiti Wall, Video Mixing, DIY Bookmarks, Drum Circle, Shadow Dancing, Yarn Bombing, Finger Knitting, Watercolor Painting, Build a Maze, Cup Stacking, Exquisite Corpse Drawing, Performance Art, Shoot Portraits with a Professional Photographer, Sound Installation, Silhouette Cutouts, Screen Printing, The Ins and Outs of Beatboxing, Edible Art, Cartooning, Cookie Decorating, Jewelry Making, Make Your Own Dress - Anything is possible!
Are there any materials I can use for my project?
Families typically provide the materials for their project, but the Arts Committee may be able to help. We are taking a trip to Materials for the Arts on February 15th. They offer free materials to non-profit organizations, but the items are somewhat random and limited. List your requests here and we’ll do our best to find what you’re looking for.
Will there be any aardvarks?
Aardvarks are nocturnal - so they will likely be sleeping during the event. Feel free to let aardvarks be your inspiration throughout Artpark!
Feel free to reach out to the Arts Committee at arts@ps3nyc.org with any questions!
*Special thanks to Blick Art Materials for their donation to Artpark!*
