Sibling Priority—Earlier this school year PS 3 a parent brought to our attention the negative consequences of the DOE removing Sibling Priority. The good news is that the DOE announced the return of Sibling Priority. Thank you John for your time and advocacy. Read more from the DOE HERE.
Reinstate PS 3 Charrette School's Cafeteria Staff —The DOE Office of Food & Nutrition (OFNS) had removed all staff from our cafeteria in October. We are pleased to report that our outreach to OFNS and local politicians was successful. Currently the cafeteria is again serving hot meals thanks to the work of two dedicated who are doing terrific work for our students.
Increase Covid Testing Of Public School Students —The mayor announced a return to weekly, random sampling of students.
Reinstate PS 3 Charrette School's Bedford Street Permit! —The NYC Department of Transportation contacted our school administration and our school now has the use of Bedford Street during drop-off and pick up hours. Our petition reached nearly 500 signatures: https://www.change.org/

Did you know that 10% of our city's 1.1 million school children are homeless,
and that approximately 1200 of them live in temporary housing in District 2?
Our school is partnering with Salk School of Science to provide supplies for a shelter in midtown that houses 100 families. We know that many PS3 families will welcome this opportunity to help! Please share this Amazon Wish List with friends and family who may also want to participate. Let's see how much of this list we can provide. (Make sure to select Travel Inn Hotel's Gift Registry for the address at checkout).
